Getting a New Look & Feel is Quick
with San Diego Cabinets

You don't have to have your life turned upside down in order to ket a new look and feel in your kitchen. In fact in as little as three days we can turn your old kitchen to a bright, new, inviting area that your family will love to congregate in.

Once your order is placed, our production director will measure every aspect of your existing cabinets and prepare a detailed list of everything that will be needed to make your project go smoothly and quickly.

Our craftsmen will then manufacturer all the material needed including building the new doors. At the same time, everything will be hand stained or pained and finished here at our shop so that the work will be minimized at your home and so you don't have to smell the fumes from the finishing process.

Because the parts are all finished at our shop, we can get a superior finish on the parts, and much thicker coatings of lacquer on everything. This makes for a far superior finish.

Once everything is ready, our installers will come to your home to start. One of the first things they will do is to protect your floor by covering it with heavy painters kraft paper and plastic. At this point they will start with the actual process of converting your old kitchen to one that you had dreamed about.

  • They will move out your stove or refrigerator and put it in a spot that you choose so that it is protected and in the case of the refrigerator, in a place where you can continue to use it.
  • They will remove all of the old molding and trim pieces.
  • They will remove all of your old existing doors.
  • They will pull out your existing drawers.
  • Any new cabinets that you ordered will now be installed.
  • Any repairs or modifications to the existing cabinets will now be completed.
  • The fronts of all of the cabinets can now be cleaned, puttied, and sanded to produce a clean smooth surface.
  • All exposed side panels will then be covered with 1/4" thick veneer
  • At this point, our craftsmen will then apply fresh wood veneer which has already been stained and permanently finished, to the fronts of all of the cabinets. This veneer is real wood so that the true color of the new stain will come through.
  • The edges of the veneer is then trimmed, sanded, and touched up so that your cabinets will look just like new.
  • New crown molding and trim molding is now applied to give the cabinets a finished look.
  • New doors are made and these are installed with euro hinges so that you can't see the hinge and so that they are self closing.
  • Finally, new drawers and drawer fronts are made and installed.

The beauty of refacing your kitchen is that you can still use the kitchen while this work is going on.
